Master and Apprentice

Consider this a sequel of sorts to my "Subspace Lennon" piece.

So I had this crazy little idea going on in my head ever since posted her part of our AT, Ch. 32 of "Cartle, My Partner" (which Leena is now a character in! )...

SPOILER ALERT: In the chapter, Leena uses her known power Fluster Fury, but soon Ashley sees that she can freeze time and even open Subspace doors out of nowhere.

SO, I thought about it...and thought about it...and BAM! It occurred to me: how was I going to develop Leena as far as that? In other words, how did she get those powers?

I have now come to a conclusion (not that this has to mess with the original story, just an idea)... since John has been trapped in Subspace for almost 30 years, he has developed the ability to change his form into a Lentle, right?

Here we go: Once Leena fully evolved and Professor Falken had slightly begun simple training with her, the Blue Meanies discovered that she had in fact not died in the desert like they thought she would. So one day, they attacked Leena using a Wheezy (she is highly sensitive to smoke), knocking her out. Then they opened up Subspace and trapped her in there. Upon awakening, Leena came to realize what had happened to her and wandered through the barren unknown of Subspace, alone...until she met John.

John took her in and became her mentor; plus, being able to turn into a Lentle, he trained her in expert-level combat and taught her some of his top techniques (he had 30 years experience...*shrug*). In addition to battle training, John also taught her how to open portals in Subspace, and over time, she became an expert herself.

...and when I say "over time", I mean she was trapped in there for about, say, three months?

What's sad is that because John is being "tested" in Subspace, he himself could not leave with Leena when she was strong enough to get out the limbo-like existence. And they really bonded...they did! It was just the two of them together. And John promised Leena that he would always be with her, even if Subspace's barriers were between them.

*starts humming to "Two of Us"*


Btw, yes I did kinda change up John's torso design; I discovered that his torso originally was supposed to look like his army jacket. And then since I couldn't really do patches on his arms...I put them on his torso! YAY!
